SydneyMania, Part III - Street Life
The story behind this unimpressive shot is that while I was trying to think of a nice way to shoot this luxurious, waterfront residential project , I felt someone was staring at me. I looked up and there was one Mr. Russel Crow, a guy who is known for his nice manners and for his tolerance of photographers... I did not try to take a shot of him 'cause I spared our new camera! On the other hand, I probably should have - I could have sued his ass for that...
So we ticked celebrities' spotting off our list...
Sydney street performers aren't nearly as good as their counterparts in Melbourne, but in their defense it should be said that they have a much stronger competition - an vibrant urban environment...
The small dots next to the flag (below) on the right are people who took the Sydney Harbor Bridge Walk, a dubious yet remarkably popular tourist attraction (starts at ~160$). Basically, you are being tied down to a huge metal construction and taken in a group of other adventurer
wannabes to see the city from atop. It all just looked kind of lame...
These were taken in Paddington, a very heap (and nowadays pricey) inner suburb of Sydney.
Seagulls are the true landlords of Sydney (re the gulls scene from "Finding Nemo"). They are just about everywhere you go - flying, eating, fighting - humans only provide them with a backdrop.
I wish I had a bit less shame because this was a really nice scene on one of the city trains, but it was poorly done with a zoom lens... but you get the idea, or so I hope.
This simple fountain was opposite from our table at a Manly restaurant and provided many kids with the opportunity to have fun and be rewarded with fame of appearing on our blog...
And here's the money shot...
I love this shot - only a kid can look at an ice cream with such determination...
